Export PNG artwork or screenshots as AVIF. Start at a higher quality for crisp graphics and check that your destination accepts AVIF files.
WebP is a strong default for website images because it usually keeps quality high at a smaller file size. JPEG is practical for photo uploads and forms, PNG is better for screenshots or transparent artwork, and AVIF can be useful when the destination supports newer formats.
A 1600 pixel wide export is enough for many full-width web layouts, while square profile photos often need exact dimensions such as 512 by 512. Keeping enlargement disabled prevents small originals from becoming soft or stretched.
Lower quality settings can shrink photos quickly, but logos, text, and interface screenshots often need PNG to keep edges crisp. The best result depends on whether the image is headed to a website, email, form upload, product listing, or profile.
A screenshot may contain one-pixel lines, flat colors, and small text. Look at those areas at full size after conversion. A smaller file is not useful if a label or diagram becomes hard to read.
AVIF can carry transparency, but the software consuming the result must support it too. Keep PNG for workflows where predictable compatibility matters more than compression.
Set the intended width here instead of repeatedly resizing intermediate images. Leave height blank for proportional scaling, or use an explicit crop only when the destination requires a fixed aspect ratio.
